about

Lucien Foort has been musically involved since early youth. Even before his music education ended, he was already on the road (at age 16) as a singer/saxophonist with his band Don´t Panic and later as a rapper in the Hip Hop Band ´ The Funky Tribe´. After several years of performing he continues on the yellow brick music road with his worldwide hit record ‘Quadrophonia’. This takes him to the farthest corners of the world.
Matching this success, but on a different note his Funk Function productions soon get noticed by renowned artists like Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez, Danny Tenaglia, Sasha, Dave Seaman, Danny Howells, and John Digweed, ‘to name a few’ whom pick up on his music eagerly. All to soon Lucien gets worldwide DJ residencies in clubs like Gatecrasher UK, Mint and Pacha in Buenos Aires and frequents big festivals like Dance valley NL, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System, Homelands, Creamfields, Roskilde and Two Tribes Australia. He performs with the likes of Roni Size, De La Soul, Carl Cox, Sacha, Ferry Costen, Paul Oakenfold, Armin Van Buren, Tiesto and many more. In his crowded schedule he finds the time to make remixes for labels like Polydor UK, Additive, Positiva, BMG UK and Bedrock as well as releasing his own productions on his label Multitracks.
His mix compilations ‘Singularity I and II’ and ‘Slice’ once again put him on the map as an internationally acclaimed DJ Artist. After finishing another hectic period of worldwide touring, Lucien decides to focus more on his music productions and his love for making radio. Following his Friday night show at ID&T Radio he takes on the challenge of filling 5 hours of airplay on 3FM national radio. On his show LOS! (Lets Have It!) on Saturday nights from 01.00 till 06.00 he presents his audience with the hottest tunes in electronic dance music and invites the likes of Pete Tong, Josh Wink, Derrick May, Basement Jaxx, Roger Sanchez, D-Ramirez, Fedde Le Grand, Freemaisons, Tiga, Alter Ego, Nic Fanciulli, Rune AKA Artificial Funk, DJ Disciple, Lifelike, Martijn Ten Velden, José Nunez, Danny Howells, Stonebridge, Futureshock, Josh Wink, The Scumfrog, Balearic Soul, Chemical Brothers and Armand van Helden to let their magic shine.
Due to his heavy rotation as a DJ and his radio show LOS!, Lucien continues to develop his feel for dance music and in 2005 he joins forces with Martijn ten Velden. As the magical NCA duo they release their first offspring ‘Bleeep!’ on Toolroom Recordings UK. Lucien’s composition ‘Colour My Eyes’ gets signed to Tiesto’s mix compilation ‘In Search Of Sunrise 5’. After completing his remix on Roger Sanchez’s hit ‘Lost’ and Marly’s ‘Saturday’, the follow up to ‘Bleeep!’ named ‘Bassification’ (again with NCA buddy Martijn ten Velden) is hot on the presses.
After some well deserved Irie time in Jamaica early 2007 Lucien uses his newly found inspiration to bang it out in the studio. The track 'Sound of Love' featuring Mitch Crown gets released on R&G Electronics. Together, Lucien and Mitch also work on a score of vocal crossover productions which may be expected to find their way to the presses next year. Another production "Let's Talk'' featuring Nicole Tyler will see it's release through BeYourself Records in 2008. Still in love as allways with deep groovy sounds Lucien top's it of with ''Earcandy'' to be expected through Slip' N' Slide Records.
Going strong with his popular radioshow LOS! and international podcast Lucien also creates several mixes to accompany radio and television award events.
Not only in music Lucien's inspiration is translated, the cultural inpact he so much enjoyed from different parts of the globe have been moulded into bracelets. Wearing his brand, name and image they are his personal token of well being. After many requests he also made a t-shirt line with his Digidread logo.
